Financial Aid

Financing Your M.S. in Nursing Degree

There are many ways to fund your nursing education. As you evaluate how to pay for your degree, consider a variety of resources such as scholarships, employment assistance, student loans, and federal student aid programs.

In order to be eligible to receive federal student aid, you must be enrolled in at least six credits per term. St. John Fisher University considers any student taking fewer than nine credits to be part time.

Employer Tuition Benefits

Some employers offer full or partial tuition reimbursement to nurses who are pursuing advanced credentials. We recommend that you speak to your employer to see if they can provide tuition support. For additional support as you prepare to discuss tuition benefits with your employer, reach out to our admissions team at 1-833-958-3064 or admissions@onlinenursing.sjf.edu

If your employer does agree to pay your tuition upon completion of the semester, you should use the Payment/Reimbursement From Employer Plan (PREP) form to defer your balance. A completed PREP form must be submitted to Student Accounts by the due date on your bill to avoid late fees. Access the PREP form on our website.

Applying for Aid

To apply for federal student aid, which includes loans, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): You will need to use the St. John Fisher University federal school code, 002821, when filling out your application. Keep in mind that you will need to complete the FAFSA each academic year in order to remain eligible to receive federal aid.

Ensure both of these steps are completed to apply for aid:
