You’ll gain hands-on experience working with patients through 600 hours of clinical rotations in your own community. During these rotations, you will perform exams, prescribe treatment, order diagnostic tests, and more under the supervision of an advanced practitioner. 

In addition, you’ll visit our campus in Rochester, New York, for one pre-clinical immersion. Immersions are opportunities to practice critical nursing skills hands-on, experience our renowned nursing facilities, and strengthen your connections within the Fisher community.

Our placement support team will work with you to secure placements near your community that align with the high standards maintained by the Wegmans School of Nursing. You are encouraged to reach out to our placement team should you have any suggestions or ideas about sites or preceptors you are interested in working with. Be sure to explore the types of settings that your clinical rotations may take place in so you can be the most impactful you.

Primary Care FNP rotations may take place in settings such as community health centers, private practices, and hospitals.

PMHNP rotations may take place in settings such as community mental health centers, inpatient or outpatient psychiatric facilities, and mental health clinics. They must occur outside of your current place of employment.

AGPCNP rotations may take place in settings such as hospitals, private clinics, and community health centers. They must occur outside of your current place of employment.
